My name is Kennedy Barkley, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. I completed my undergraduate degree at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, North Carolina. At NCCU, I majored in History with a concentration in education. My interest sparked for Higher Education while working in Housing and Residence Life and Student Activities while at NCCU. As a Community Assistant, I was able to interact with students, plan programs, and serve as a mentor to students in residence halls. At that moment,  I knew Higher Education would give me the satisfaction of helping students and fulfilling my desire to be involved in education.

My desired functional areas are Student Conduct, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Housing and Residence Life. I also have a strong interest in working with underrepresented students and student-athletes. That being said, some of my goals are to continue my education and obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or terminal degree in Counseling Psychology while eventually becoming an adjunct faculty member and a Dean of Students.
